Pune: Three Men Arrested For Looting Cash And Valuables Worth Rs 1.12 Crore From Courier Company Employees

Pune, 6th August 2021: The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Pune rural police has arrested three persons who posed as police personnel and robbed cash and valuables worth Rs 1.12 crore from employees of a courier company, on Friday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ramdas Bhausaheb Bhosale (30), Tushar Baban Tambe (22), both residents of Varude, Shirur and Bharat Shahaji Bangar (36) of Ganegaon Khalsa, Shirur. The search for their accomplice is on.

Superintendent of Police Dr Abhinav Deshmukh said that till now Rs 85.52 lakh cash, gold ornaments worth Rs 7.5 lakh and vehicles, totally worth Rs 1.5 crore, have been seized from them.

According to police, four employees of a courier company were traveling in the state transport (ST) bus from Latur to Mumbai on Tuesday (August 3) around midnight. The accused persons, who were in a four-wheeler, blocked the bus. They entered the bus and pretended to be policemen. They called out the four having bus passes and took away Rs 92 lakh cash and ornaments, totally worth Rs 1.12 crore.

Based on footage from CCTV cameras and technical analysis of phone records, the LCB laid a trap and nabbed the accused persons in the Kharadi bypass area.

The investigation was conducted by a team comprising Police Inspector Padmakar Ghanwat, API Sachin Kale, Sub-Inspector Shivaji Nanavare and policemen Shabbir Pathan, Raju Momin, Janardan Shelke, Anil Kale, Raviraj Kokare, Ajit Bhujbal, Mangesh Thigle, Vijay Kanchan, Guru Jadhav, Dheeraj Jadhav, Balasaheb Khadke, Dagdu Virkar and Kashinath Rajapure.
