Pune City Likely to Witness Cloudy Skies; IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Ghat Areas of District
Pune, 20th July 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not issued any specific rainfall warning for Pune city on Monday and has forecast generally cloudy conditions throughout the day. However, a Yellow Alert has been issued for the ghat regions of Pune district, where light to moderate rainfall is likely.
According to the IMD’s five-day weather forecast, Pune city is not expected to witness any significant weather activity over the next few days. Cloudy skies are likely to prevail, accompanied by occasional light rain showers in some parts of the city.
In contrast, the district’s ghat areas are expected to continue receiving light to moderate rainfall at isolated locations. The weather department has indicated that rain activity is likely to persist in these regions due to prevailing monsoon conditions.
Meanwhile, no major weather warnings have been issued for most parts of Maharashtra on Monday. However, the possibility of rainfall remains in some coastal areas and ghat sections of the state.
The IMD has advised citizens travelling through ghat stretches to exercise caution, particularly in hilly terrain. Visitors heading to waterfalls and other monsoon tourist destinations have also been urged to take necessary safety precautions in view of the wet weather conditions.
