Pune, 28th October 2023: In celebration of Kojagari Poornima today, the municipal administration has announced extended hours for city parks, allowing citizens to enjoy the serene green spaces until midnight. The revised park timings for Saturday will be from 4:30 pm to 12 midnight, as revealed by the municipal administration.

This decision aligns with the mandate under Section 66 (10) of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act, 1949, which obliges the Municipal Corporation to establish public parks, gardens, and open spaces for recreational purposes. The Garden Department, operating under 15 Ward Offices of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), has successfully developed 211 parks, aquariums, and zoos. The department is actively involved in the development, beautification, and maintenance of these green havens.

The expansive parks, known for attracting regular crowds of citizens, play a crucial role in providing recreational spaces for the community. Annually, on the occasion of Kojagari Poornima, citizens flock to these parks in large numbers. To enhance the festive experience for the public, the decision to extend park hours has been taken this year.
