Pune, March 8, 2021: Today Pune City Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta had gone live on Twitter from 1 to 2 pm and answered the questions of citizens. It was a discussion of how to keep Pune’s Safety in the Pink of its health.

He answered a few very important questions related to coronavirus protocols, women’s safety, and violations of rules by the citizens. The number of tweets during the live were about 180-210. Around 50 to 60 users engaged with the live. The reach of the live was 189,012 and the impressions were 14,78,377.

“Women’s safety is a reflection of the goodness of Pune City! We are glad to be serving people who understand the value of respecting women; and the ones who don’t, there are apt legal provisions to show them the way,” Police Commissioner Gupta said.

One of the citizens asked how the team ensured women’s safety during the night time on which the Police Commissioner said, “You cannot see us but we have our eyes on you! Women safety was, is, and continues to be amongst our top priorities.”

“We take cognisance of all online complaints and send our officials to the spot immediately. But as per law, FIR can be lodged only at a police station,” said Police Commissioner to a citizen who had asked why an FIR cannot be registered online when a woman and child faces issues or trouble at home and cannot reach the police station.

Regarding the Coronavirus situation and its protocols, the Police Commissioner said, “There is no curfew but necessary restrictions shall continue till we have driven the virus out of our city! And the restrictions will be reduced or added on, as per the situation.”

For the citizens wearing a mask on the chin instead of covering their mouth and nose, he said, ” It’s a mask, not a chin guard! And if spotted under the nose, the cops have no option to take action as per law. I request you to make sure the nose is covered to keep the virus as well as the fine away.”

He also said that wearing a mask in a private vehicle when travelling with family is not necessary for now but citizens should take precautions to be fine and healthy instead of taking precautions to save fine.
