Pune: City Pride Multiplex Fined Rs 11.20 Lakh Over Unauthorised Hoardings in Pune
Pune, 17th September 2026: The City Pride Multiplex on Satara Road has been fined ₹11.20 lakh by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for allegedly installing unauthorised film advertisement boards and displaying hoardings larger than the permitted size.
The action was taken by the PMC’s Sky Sign Department under the Bibwewadi Regional Office following a written complaint filed by Bharat Surana, President of the Congress Traders’ Front. Acting on the complaint, PMC licence inspectors conducted an inspection of the multiplex premises.
During an on-site inspection on September 3, 2026, officials found several advertisement boards of different sizes that had allegedly been installed without the necessary permissions and beyond the prescribed dimensions.
Following the inspection, the PMC Assistant Commissioner and licence inspectors issued a notice to the City Pride management. The multiplex authorities have been directed to submit an application in the prescribed SP-7 format and obtain the required licence within four days, excluding holidays.
The civic body has warned that if the management fails to obtain the required permission within the stipulated period, a five-times additional penalty will be imposed as per the applicable rules.
PMC has further warned that the unauthorised boards may be seized and that the cost of the removal and seizure process will be recovered from the multiplex owner. Further legal action may also be initiated for continued violations.
The action comes as the civic administration continues to enforce regulations governing outdoor advertising and hoardings across Pune, particularly in cases involving unauthorised installations and violations of permitted dimensions.
