Pune: Class 11 Admission Portal Down for Hours, Maharashtra Govt Revises FYJC Schedule
Pune, 22nd May 2026: The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has extended the deadline for filling Part Two of the online Class 11 admission form after the admission portal crashed for over two hours on Thursday due to heavy traffic.
The first regular round of the Centralised Online Admission Process (CAP) for Class 11 admissions began on May 21, allowing students to fill Part Two of the application form and submit their preferred junior colleges. However, technical issues on the website disrupted the process, leaving several students unable to complete their applications.
Following the disruption, the department revised the admission schedule and extended the deadline for submitting Part Two of the form and locking college preferences till 6 pm on May 23. The earlier deadline was May 22.
According to the department, a total of 21,98,586 seats are available in 9,593 junior colleges across Maharashtra. This includes 17,42,355 seats under the CAP process and 4,56,231 seats under reserved quota categories.
Officials said that more than 9.96 lakh students have already registered for the admission process.
The first merit list for admissions will now be announced on May 27. Students allotted seats in the first round will have to visit their allotted colleges between May 27 and May 29 for document verification and confirmation of admission.
The schedule for the second admission round will be released on June 1.
Dr Mahesh Palkar, Director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, said the portal malfunctioned due to a sudden surge in user traffic.
“The Class 11 admission website experienced heavy load and remained inaccessible for nearly two hours. The technical issue was later resolved and the portal was restored. Students have now been given additional time to complete the process,” Palkar said.
