Pune: Class 12 Girl Dies By Suicide Due To Harassment And Stalking
Pune, 3rd December 2022: A 17-year-old girl, studying in class 12, died by suicide due to harassment and stalking. In this regard, the airport police have registered a case against a 17-year-old boy.
The girl died by suicide on October 12 at her residence in the Chandannagar area. The girl’s father has filed a complaint at the airport police station. The girl was studying in class 12 in Kendriya Vidyalaya.
A 17-year-old youth used to follow her since July when she was coming back home from school. He was threatening her to be friends with him by stopping her in the middle of the way. Hence, the girl died by suicide on October 12 due to continuous harassment.
In this case, the airport police initially reported accidental death case. Inquiries were made to the teachers, friends, and relatives of the deceased girl. Investigation revealed that a 17-year-old youth from the Mundhwa area was harassing the girl.
Two months later, the police registered a case of inciting the girl to attempt suicide.
Assistant Police Inspector Pathak is investigating the case further.
