Pune: Class 12 Students Will Get Six Marks Due To Mistake On English Question Paper
Pune, 4th March 2023: There were mistakes in the English subject question paper of the class 12 examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. It has been decided by the state board to award six marks to all the students who attempted to solve the poetry questions in the question paper.
This year 14,57,293 students have registered for the class 12 examination. This includes 7,92,780 boys and 6,64,441 girls. Examinations are underway at 3,195 centres. The class 12 exam started on February 21 and the first paper was on an English subject.
In this paper, there were mistakes in three questions A-3, A-4, and A-5 asked about the poetry activity. Due to a printing mistake, only the answers from the model answers were printed on it. There were three questions with two marks each. Students did not understand these questions. As per the prevailing procedure, a joint meeting of English subjects was organized on 3rd March with subject experts and chief regulators of all departmental boards. The mistakes in the question paper on this English subject were pointed out. A decision was also taken immediately to mark the questions which had errors as per the report.
Sharad Gosavi, president of the state board said, “If Poetry Section-2 is mentioned in the answer sheet, if students attempt any other question in Poetry Section-2, if the question number is mentioned as A-3, A-4, A-5 in the answer sheet in such a situation, it has been decided to give the students two marks for each question, a total of six marks.”
