Pune: CME ON ILIZAROV METHODOLOGY, DEFORMITY CORRECTION AND LIMB LENGTHENING

Pune, 15th November 2021: The Department of Orthopaedics at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune hosted a CME “Ilizarov Methodology, Deformity Correction and Limb Lengthening” on 13th and 14th Nov 2021. It was a unique academic feast that was attended physically by delegates from across the country. 

The two-day event featured eminent speakers in the field of Ilizarov methodology and deformity correction from reputed centres across the country as well as distinguished faculty from various AFMS Hospitals, who conducted interactive sessions on the subject.

The event was accredited by the Association of Surgeons for the Application and Methods of Ilizarov (ASAMI) India. Dr Ruta Kulkarni, President ASAMI India delivered the Keynote address on “Dr Ilizarov: The man, his machine and its eternal relevance”.

An e-souvenir was released on a compilation of scientific articles related to Ilizarov methodology. Four workshops were organised during the event. The young and budding Orthopaedic surgeons were demonstrated skills on saw bone models and undertook hands-on training on the same. In addition, a panel discussion, paper presentations and quiz competition were organised during the event which was appreciated by the delegates.
