Pune: Common Man Turned Back To ‘Chuhla’, Due To Rising Prices Of Fuel And Cooking Gas?

Pune, August 23, 2021: Many families have turned back to the use of ‘chulha’ owing to high prices of cooking gas. Many people lost their livelihoods due to Covid-19 pandemic similarly, the inflation rate too have rose sharply.

 

Yet again the cooking gas prices has rose by Rs25. The price of cooking gas was rose six times in last eight months. In January it was prices at Rs1343.50 while the commercial cylinder was priced at 1629.50. The domestic gas cylinder saw a price hike of Rs697 since January this year. Currently, it is priced at Rs 862.50.

 

Dhanshree Telang, a house-wife from Hadapsar said, “the ambitious scheme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give women rid of smoke has failed. The rising price of cooking gas pushed us back to the use of ‘chulha’.

 

‘The entire budget of the house of the months has gone topsy turvey due to rising prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas. Life has become very difficult”, said Sunita Lokhande, resident of Narayangaon.
