Pune: Community Applauds Police Action Against Narcotics in Mohammadwadi, Kalepadal
Mohammadwadi, 19th August 2025: Acting on a formal complaint by social activist Jaymala Dhankikar over the rising menace of drug abuse and illegal narcotics activities in Kalepadal and nearby areas, the local police have launched an intensified crackdown.

Welcoming the prompt action, Dhankikar said, “The police, under the current station leadership and the guidance of senior officers, are doing a commendable job in ensuring citizens’ safety. Our complaints have been addressed without delay, and FIRs have been lodged promptly. We are thankful for the proactive approach.”
The increased police presence has also drawn appreciation from residents.
Manish Koli, a resident, said, “For months, we were worried about suspicious gatherings in isolated spots. It’s reassuring to finally see visible police presence.”
Sneha Barate, a college student, added, “There were whispers of drug dealings near closed commercial spaces. I feel safer now walking home in the evenings.”
Local shopkeeper Ramesh Satpute said, “The crackdown has already made a difference. It’s encouraging to see police acting on citizen inputs instead of ignoring them.”
