Pune, 19th November 2025: A Pune-bound commuter missed his connecting superfast train to Kopargaon on Wednesday morning after the Lonavala–Pune local (Train No. 99801) ran late, prompting him to request a refund for the unused ticket.

The passenger, who shared real-time screenshots on social media, said the suburban service was delayed by nearly 20 minutes at several stations. The train reached Shivajinagar around 6:30 AM, after the scheduled departure of his connecting train from Pune Junction. He had purchased an unreserved ticket worth ₹265 through the UTS mobile app and was unable to board the onward service.

Posting the incident on X (formerly Twitter), the commuter highlighted what he described as recurring morning delays on the Lonavala–Pune corridor. He also noted the difficulty in obtaining refunds for UTS-issued unreserved tickets unless a train is cancelled.

The posts prompted responses from the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Pune, and the Railway Seva official handle. Both expressed regret over the inconvenience and asked the commuter to share travel details and the ticket reference number via direct message to facilitate review and possible refund processing.

The Lonavala–Pune suburban route handles heavy weekday traffic, with multiple local services catering to office-goers and students. Railway officials said they are investigating the reported delay and will take further action based on the findings.
