Pune: Commuters And Residents Suffer As Road Conditions Remain Poor In Undri

Undri, 24th August 2022: The road in Undri between Marvel Sangria and Dorabjee Paradise is in poor condition, with potholes and traffic jams. The residents and commuters are distressed.
An internal road behind the Royale Heritage Mall, leading to Undri, is covered in potholes. The conditions have worsened considerably with the onslaught of heavy monsoons. It is congested during peak hours of the day and night because it connects Undri and the Royale Heritage Mall, and it is a major road for commuters that becomes a bottleneck when large trucks and tankers pass through it.
Dr Ashwin Khilare, president of the Undri Residents Association, said, ‘’People use this road daily, and many mishaps and accidents have already occurred. A few days ago, a boy on a two-wheeler lost his life due to one such accident on this road itself.’
Lack of lights on the roads, especially at night, make potholes difficult to see, leading to accidents.
A resident of NIBM, Zainab Polishwala, said, ‘’This road needs urgent attention and works for the commuters to travel safely to and fro.’’
The secretary of the Undri Residents Association, Jayshree Ganesh, also said, ‘’I have been living here for the past 12 years, and since then, I have not seen much improvement in the condition of this road. We have been complaining to the PMC for a long time, but no action has been taken yet.’’
