Pune: Two Moneylenders Arrested For Demanding Rs 10 Lakh Even After Repaying Loans

Pune, 24th August 2022: On Tuesday (August 23), the Anti-Extortion Cell of Pune City police Crime Branch arrested two moneylenders who exploited a needy person financially and physically for another Rs 10 lakh despite paying back the money taken with interest during the financial crisis.

 

 

The arrested persons have been identified as Rahul Balkrishna Kondhare (42), a resident of Ambegaon Budruk and Vijay Ganpat Kumbharkar (38), a resident of Dhayari Phata. A 33-year-old citizen has filed a complaint at Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station in this regard.

 

This incident took place between June 1, 2019, and August 23, 2022. As the victim was in financial difficulty, he borrowed Rs five lakh from Kondhare at 10% per annum interest. Similarly, he borrowed Rs five lakh from Kumharkar at 8% interest. He had repaid the loan amount alongwith interest.

However, still, both of them were demanding Rs five lakh each. Police informed that both of them used to threaten him. A judicial magistrate court has remanded them to police custody.
