Pune: Computer Engineer Dies By Suicide, Police Investigate Reason

Shivajinagar, 10th July 2021: A 36-year-old computer engineer was found dead at his residence on BMCC Road in the Deccan area on Thursday. Police said that he was found hanging and they are yet to ascertain the reason behind his extreme step.

The deceased has been identified as Akshay Sudhir Deodhar, a resident of Mumbai. He worked with a reputed German company.

According to Deccan Gymkhana police station, Deodhar’s parents stay in Mumbai. Due to lockdown, he worked from home and a few months back he had shifted to his grandfather’s flat in Ratnali Apartment on BMCC Road. He was living alone in the flat.

On Thursday, Akshay was not answering the phone. His relatives came to his flat, they noticed that the flat was locked from inside. When he did not open the door, they informed the police which called the fire brigade.

Firefighters broke open the door and found Akshay hanging. Police rushed him to Sassoon Hospital where he was declared dead. The reason behind his extreme step is yet to be ascertained, but the police have expressed the possibility that he did this due to mental stress.

Akshay did not write any note before suicide. Police have found in his diary in which he has written: “this life has no meaning”. Meanwhile, his eye has been donated.

Akshay was very fond of mountaineering. He had successfully climbed many places.
