Pune: Construction Worker Falls To Death From Under-Construction Building, Case Registered
Pune 27th July 2023 : In a tragic incident reported in Warje on Tuesday, a 20-year-old construction worker died after falling from third floor of the under-construction building. The police have booked construction firm owner and contractor for negligence for not providing necessary security gears to the workers.
According to police, the construction worker identified as Akhilesh Devta Kumar (20) was working at a construction site of four storey building in Warje. As the labourers were working on the third flood, Akhilesh fell off the building and sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to nearby hospital for the treatment but the doctors declared him dead.
A case in this regard has been registered at Warje Police Station against a construction firm owner and contractor for allegedly not providing the safety equipment such as safety net, helmet and belt to the workers. Police have booked the accused under sections 304(a) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation in the matter is underway.
