Pune: Construction Worker Killed For Not Lending Money For Alcohol
Hadapsar, 20th December 2022: The incident of a construction worker being killed by an iron pillar on his head for not giving money to buy alcohol took place at a construction project in the Hadapsar area. A case has been registered against a worker in this case.
The deceased has been identified as Puchu Mandhuwa Murmu (49), a resident of Kumar Property Labor Camp, near Amanora Mall, Hadapsar. A case has been registered against construction worker Sanjay Kunu Chaurasia (19). Chaurasia has been detained by the police. Saddam Hussain (31), a resident of Keshavnagar, Mundhwa, has filed a complaint in this regard at Hadapsar Police Station.
Murmu and accused Chaurasia worked as labourers on a planned construction project near Amanora Park. Chaurasia asked Murmu for money to drink alcohol. When Murmu refused to pay, the accused hit him on the head. Murmu, who was seriously injured in this incident, died during treatment. Police sub-inspector Kaviraj Patil is investigating.
