Pune: Controllerate of Quality Assurance Organises Defence Exhibition On Engineering Equipment

Pune, 14th December 2021: On the occasion of 75 years of “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”, Directorate General of Quality Assurance today organised Defence Exhibition at Controllerate of Quality Assurance (Engineering Equipment), Aundh Camp, Pune. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash.

Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) is an Inter-Service Organisation functioning under the Department of Defence Production, in the Ministry of Defence. DGQA is responsible for Quality Assurance of all defence stores and equipment, both imported as well as indigenous for Army, Navy (Excluding Naval Armaments) and common user items for the Air Force procured from Private Sector, Public Sector undertakings and Ordnance Factories.

In order to give wide publicity for the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiative, the event was conducted by demonstrating the evolution of QA and defence manufacturing over the last 75 years. The event was also aimed at making the private industries aware of the various MoD schemes for active participation in manufacturing of Defence Equipment.

BEG Kirkee, R&DE Dighi Pune and the various Indian Defence Public Sector and Private manufacturers viz. Bharat Electronics Limited Navi Mumbai, BEML Bangalore, M/s L&T Defence Talegaon, M/s Bharat Forge Ltd. Pune, M/s Cooper Corporation Satara, M/s Kirloskar Pneumatic Co Ltd (KPCL), M/s Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd (KOEL), M/s Entremonde Polycoaters Ltd. Nashik, M/s Worldwide Oilfield Machine Pvt Ltd. Pune, M/s Alfa Laval Pune, M/s Pune Instrumentation Pvt Ltd, M/s KV Fire Chemicals (New Bharat) Pvt Ltd, Navi Mumbai, M/s Kala Span Industries Pune and M/s Vijay Sabre Safety Pvt Ltd. Mumbai participated and demonstrated their equipment in the exhibition.

The event commenced with the welcome speech by Brig PK Shrivastava, Controller, CQA (EE), Aundh Camp, Pune followed by Lighting of Lamp, Speech and Inauguration of Exhibition by Commissioner of Police, PCMC. There after presentations were given on Quality Management System in L&T Defence, Products and Profile of BEL and QA aspects by Entremonde Polycoaters.In the exhibition, wide variety of Engineering Equipment were displayed to Public viz. 46 Meter Modular Bridging System, 10 Meter Short Span Bridging System (SSBS), ROV Daksh, Multi Spectral Camouflage Net (MSCN), Armour Troop Carrier (ATC) and many other Engineering, Fire Fighting, NBC and Naval Eqpt used by Indian Armed Forces.

Reps from various Govt, Public Sector and Private Defence manufacturing agencies, engineering graduates from MIT, Sinhagadh Institute Vadgaon & Narhegaon, Shivaji Memorial Institute, School children from KV Ganeshkhind, NCC cadets from B.R.G College and local public has witnessed the exhibition. The exhibition has enabled for the appreciation of need for Atmanirbhar Bharat and the role of Indian vendors for manufacturing Defence products.
