Pune Coronavirus: These 7 Areas in Pune have 85 % of total COVID Patients

Pune, April 27, 2020: The numbers of Coronavirus positive patients in Pune are increasing at a rapid pace as more and more people are being tested for COVID19. Till 7.30 pm yesterday, the total tally had reached 1139 in areas under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The analysis of the total cases reveals that about 85 percent of the total patients are concentrated in seven out of 15 ward areas of Pune city.

According to PMC, there are 245 patients in Bhavani Peth, 163 in Dhole Patil Road, 142 in Shivajinagar-Ghole Road, 131 in Kasba-Vishrambaugwada, 127 in Yerwada, 61 in Dhankawadi-Sahakarnagar, 56 in Wanowrie-Ramtekdi, 32 in Bibvewadi, 32 in Hadapsar, 30 in Nagar Road, 16 in Kondhwa, 10 in Sinhagad Road, 9 in Warje-Karvenagar, 4 in Aundh-Baner and 2 in Kothrud-Bavdhan. The ward wise mapping could be done for only 1110 patients till now. The total tally had reached 16 in Khadki and 12 in Pune cantonment till yesterday. Out of 16, one person has been cured while 15 active patients are in Khadki.

Three more patients succumbed to Coronavirus during treatment. They include a 64-years-old female from Ghorpadigaon. She was symptomatic since April 18 and was admitted to Sassoon General Hospital April 23. Her report came COVID positive on April 24. Doctors said that she also suffered from hypertension and diabetes. She died around 9.30 pm yesterday.

Another 48-year-old from Parvati Darshan died around midnight. She was symptomatic since April 16 and was admitted to Sassoon hospital on April 18 and she was detected positive on the same day. She also suffered diabetes, hypertension, Ischaemic Heart disease, obesity, acute kidney injury. A 38-years-old man from Kondhwa died around 10 am today. He had symptoms since April 19 and was admitted in Sassoon hospital on April 25. His comorbidities included diabetes Mellitus and acute kidney injury.

In Pimpri-Chinchwad, three more people from Rupeenagar area were reported to be affected by the disease today. So far 16 infected patients have been found in Rupeenagar area. The total tally has reached 89 in PCMC areas out of which 28 have been cured and discharged while 4 have died till now. There 57 active patients.

As per the district health office (DHO) report, till 9 am today, the number of Coronavirus patients reached 1364 in Pune district including 77 deaths. A total of 55 new patients were detected between 7 pm Sunday and 9 am Monday (today).
