Pune: Countdown Begins For Bhimthadi Jatra, Dates Released…
Pune, 18th December 2021: People have suffered heavy losses during the covid pandemic since almost 2 years now. However, now that life is getting back to normal, ‘Bhimthadi Jatra’ the annual carnival , is back to support women entrepreneurs and self help groups who have also suffered heavy losses.
Every year Sharda Mahila Sangh, with support from Agricultural Development Trust, Baramati, Agri College Pune, Nanded City, Baramati Agro organizes a four-and-a-half day fair at the ground of Agriculture College, Sinchannagar, Shivaji Nagar Pune. More than 8500 women’s self-help groups have been benefited since last 14 years.
The fair was cancelled in February 2021 at last moment due to the second wave. This year the Bhimthadi Jatra will be held from 22nd December to 26th December 2021 following all the rules and regulations of Covid – 19 pandemic, informed Sunanda Pawar, the organizer of Bhimthadi Jatra.
Sai Pawar, curator of Bhimthadi Jatra, added, “Preservation of rural culture, tradition , quality rural food and unique handmade and handicraft products made by rural women is the highlight of ‘Bhimthadi Jatra’. People need to take note that only those who have received 2 shots of covid vaccine will be allowed entry for the event. Those who have got one dose will be required to have RTPCR Covid test report. Identity Card and Vaccination Certificate will be checked before giving entry.”
