Pune: Couple Beaten And Robbed In Bopdev Ghat

Pune, 1st July 2022: The incident took place in Bopdev Ghat in Kondhwa area after the couple was beaten and robbed. The robbers injured the two-wheeler driver in the head with a sword and snatched a Mangalsutra worth Rs 60,000 from his wife’s neck.

Balu Baban Jadhav (42), a resident of Katraj has lodged a complaint at Kondhwa Police Station in this regard. Jadhav is originally from Saswad. He works in Pune city and has rented a flat in the Katraj area. The Jadhav couple was going to Saswad on a two-wheeler.

At around 10.30 pm, the couple was stopped by robbers on a two-wheeler near the K. J. college and started threatening them. They threatened them with the sword. Jadhav was injured in the head with a sword and his mobile phone was snatched. After that, they threatened Jadhav’s wife and snatched Mangalsutra worth Rs 60,000 and ran away from there.

The couple informed the drivers travelling through the ghat about the incident and then lodged a complaint.

Assistant Police Inspector Sandeep Madhale is investigating the case further.
