Pune Couple Scammed of Rs 9 Lakh by Cyber Thief Offering Instant Online Loan
Pune, 10th April 2023: A couple in Pune fell prey to a cyber thief who duped them with an offer of an instant online loan for their business.
The woman has filed a complaint at Kondhwa police station and a case has been registered against the thief, identified as Manoj Kumar, under the Information Technology Act and fraud.
The thief sent a link to the woman’s mobile number, luring them with the promise of an instant loan. He demanded an amount to be paid for the loan approval process and extorted Rs 9 lakh 37 from the couple.
After blocking his mobile number, the thief vanished, prompting the couple to lodge a complaint with the police. The case is under investigation by Assistant Police Inspector Mohite.
