Pune couple who first tested positive for Coronavirus now tested negative

Pune, March 23, 2020: A couple from Dhayari, who had gone for a trip to Dubai with 40 others, and who first tested positive for Coronavirus COVID19 infection in Maharashtra, have tested NEGATIVE.

They were found positive on March 9 and after 14 days of treatment in the isolation ward of Naidu Hospital, they have tested negative. The test will be repeated on Tuesday (March 24) after which they are likely to be discharged.

After their return to India, they had travelled in a cab from Mumbai to Pune. Later the cab driver and the couple’s daughter, in her 20s, also tested positive for Coronavirus. They are also under treatment at Naidu Hospital.

The total cases in Maharashtra have increased to 97 including 29 from Pune district. Till now there have been three deaths in the state and all of them happened in Mumbai.
