Koregaon Park, 26th October 2023: A court has issued an order for the arrest of the former Senior Police Inspector, Kamble, who failed to appear despite repeated summons to testify in a case involving assault and extortion. Judicial Magistrate (First Class) C. M. Patil passed the directive, emphasizing the importance of his testimony in the ongoing legal proceedings.

The case, registered on May 20, 2013, at Koregaon Park Police Station, booked Shivaji Shinde, Sainath Satav, Somnath Satav, Vishnu Satav, Dnyaneshwar Satav, and Nilaram Shitakal, all residents of Kesnand. The complaint, filed by Hanif Somji of Boat Club Road, alleges physical assault, a demand for a Rs 20 lakh extortion, and the creation of a riot-like situation in Somji’s office with threats of harm.

The Koregaon Park Police conducted an investigation and filed a chargesheet on September 24, 2013. Legal representation for the accused is being handled by Advocates Milind Pawar and Akash Deshmukh. Notably, while witnesses for the government have recorded their testimony, the investigating officer, Senior Inspector Kamble, has yet to provide his account. The case is scheduled for the next hearing on November 24.

In addition to the arrest order, a warrant for Kamble’s arrest has been issued. The Koregaon Park police station staff attempted to contact Kamble, but calls went unanswered. A notice of the arrest warrant was sent via WhatsApp, but there has been no response. Following this, public prosecutor sought court approval for the issuance of another arrest warrant, which has been granted.
