Pune: Court of Inquiry Ordered After NDA Cadet Found Dead

Pune, 10th October 2025: A Court of Inquiry has been ordered following the unfortunate demise of Cadet Antriksh Kumar Singh, a first-term cadet undergoing training at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla.
The cadet was found lifeless in his cabin in the early hours of Friday after failing to report for the day’s training. Fellow cadets discovered him and immediately rushed him to the Military Hospital, Khadakwasla, where he was declared dead at 6:30 am.
“The NDA deeply regrets this unfortunate incident and has informed the cadet’s next of kin and the local police. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death,” said Ankush Chavan, PRO, Defence, Pune.
The NDA fraternity expressed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Chavan added, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this hour of grief. The academy remains committed to supporting them during this difficult time.”
The investigation by the Court of Inquiry will determine the exact circumstances surrounding the cadet’s death.
Meanwhile, Pune City Police’s Uttamnagar police station is also investigating the case.
