Pune Court Sentences Man to 20 Years in Prison for Sexual Abuse of Minor in Kondhwa
Kondhwa, 11th October 2025: The Pune District and Sessions Court on Friday sentenced Anis Nais Mohammed, 36, a resident of Mohammedwadi, Pune, to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 for sexually abusing a minor girl in the Kondhwa area. In case the fine is not paid, the court ruled that the accused will serve an additional six months in prison.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Dr. Rajkumar Shinde, the incident took place in 2019 when the accused lured a minor girl playing in the Kondhwa area to his room with chocolates. Despite knowing the child’s age, he allegedly abused her against her will. The girl’s family filed a complaint at the Kondhwa police station, leading to the registration of a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of sexual assault.
The case was investigated by Assistant Police Inspector Swaraj Patil, who collected strong evidence and filed a detailed charge sheet in court. District and Sessions Judge K. D. Shirbhate, after examining the evidence, handed down the 20-year sentence.
During the court proceedings, government counsel Nitin Konghe, Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar, and court advocacy officers Mahesh Jagtap, Vijay Mane, Ankush Bansode, Amol Hirve, and Mayur More played a pivotal role in presenting the case effectively.
In recognition of their work, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajkumar Shinde announced a reward of Rs 10,000 each for the investigation team and the court advocacy officers.
