Pune: Covid Care Centre Set Up In Yerwada With Focus On Children

Pune, 24th May 2021: Centre for Youth Development and Activities (CYDA) in collaboration with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has set up 250 bedded Covid Care Centre with a special focus on children at Yerwada golf club. The initiative is supported by GiveIndia, Oxfam, SaveTheChildren and QuickHeal.

 

The Covid care centre has a special ward for children with a capacity of 40 beds, and parents can also stay with their kids. Special arrangements have been made for the children ward. Only kids below the age of 4 years will be allowed to stay with their parents. Arrangements are made in such a way that parents can stay in the same rooms with their kids next to them.

 

The centre has walls painted with attractive colourful cartoons to make the space lively and cheerful. The centre will also provide nutritious food to the children.

 

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar inaugurated the Covid Care Center and appreciated the work. He said, “The beauty of this centre is that children below age 4 can stay with their parents/guardians special arrangements have been made for the parents stay as well.”

 

Apart from the children ward, 130 beds are arranged separately for Covid patients. The centre will have a dedicated team of doctors and nursing assistants 24/7, labs and an ambulance for the patients. Other medical facilities like ventilator, oxygen and ICU facilities are also provided.
