Pune: COVID deaths include 13 months old girl, 82-year-old Yerwada Jail inmate

Pune, May 10, 2020: In the last 24 hours, five people lost their lives due to Coronavirus in Pune city including a 13 months old girl who is the youngest COVID death. An 82-year-old Yerwada Central Jail inmate also died at Sassoon hospital, who is the oldest to succumb to the deadly virus.

 

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), five patients died today taking the tally of deaths to 144. There are still 1318 active patients admitted in various hospitals including 92 critical patients. Today a record number of 194 Coronavirus patients got discharged from hospitals in Pune city after being cured. However, 102 new patients were also reported taking the total tally of patients to 2482 out of which 1020 have been cured.

 

The 13 months old girl was a resident of Warje. She suffered from pulmonary haemorrhage secondary to ARDS with covid19 positive. She also had pneumonitis with megaloblastic anaemia with sepsis with severe acute malnutrition.  The 82-year-old jail inmate was a resident of Waghjari in Akkalkot taluka of Solapur district. He died due to acute respiratory failure due to COVID19 pneumonitis with septic shock. He also suffered from tuberculosis (TB). He died around 9.30 pm on Saturday (May 9).
