Pune: COVID Jumbo Hospital In Shivajinagar Becomes Functional Again

Pune, 23 March 2021: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to re-open the Jumbo hospital erected at the College of Engineering (COEP) grounds at Shivajinagar. The decision to make it functional again was taken after the city saw a surge in the cases. Patients will be admitted from today.

The hospital has 250 beds with 125 oxygen beds, 25 ICU beds. Similarly, 100 beds will be for the isolation ward. The hospital has been cleaned and disinfected before making it functional.

Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar and additional commissioner Rubal Agarwal personally inspected the hospital. Similarly, 30 extra beds have been made available at Dalvi hospital.

‘Medbro’ company will provide the manpower for the jumbo hospital, said Dr Anjali Sabane, acting health chief, PMC.
