Pune CP Invokes MCOCA Against Criminal And His Accomplice, 52nd Action Since He Took Charge
Pune 23rd August 2023: The Pune City Police Commissioner has continued action against criminals on record by invoking serious charges such as Maharashtra Control Of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). on Wednesday, he issued an order to invoke MCOCA against Prasad alias Chikya Sampat Gaikwad, leader of a gang and his gang members Arbaz Ayyub Patel (24) and Bablu Santosh Chavan (22).
The accused were booked in a case registered at Vimantal Police Station for threatening a street vendor and snatching cash from him. The police team found during the investigation that Gaikwad has around 8 cases registered against him in the past while Arbaz has 6 cases and Bablu has 4 cases registered against him.
It was revealed that the accused were operating a gang in the area to create terror among people and they were booked under various serious offences in the past. Considering their previous record, the police commissioner involved MCOCA against them following recommendations from Vimantal Police Station and the accused have been sent to central jail.
