Pune: Credit Card KYC Update Makes Elderly Woman Poorer By Rs 4.84 Lakh
Pune, 18th September 2022: An incident of withdrawal of Rs 4.84 lakh has come to light from the account of an elderly woman on the pretext of getting credit card information.
She has filed a complaint with the Deccan Gymkhana police station. She lives in the Erandwane area.
According to police, the complainant received a call from a woman who pretended to be speaking from her bank. She took the confidential information of an elderly woman’s credit card for updating Know Your Customer (KYC) details. Later, Rs 4.84 lakh was withdrawn from her bank account by misusing this information.
After realising that the cash was withdrawn from the bank account, she lodged a complaint with the police. Police Inspector Pathan is investigating this case.
