Pune: Crime Branch Policeman Caught Taking Bribe For Not Implicating Youth In Theft Case
Pune, 30th November 2022: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths have arrested two persons including a policeman of Pune city police accepting bribe. They were caught at Crime Branch unit 3 office in Range Hills area.
An FIR has been registered at Khadki police station against constable Deepak Prahlad Kshirsagar and his accomplice Simon Avinash Salvi who is a civilian.
According to police, Kshirsagar had demanded a bribe of Rs two lakh to avoid arresting the complainant’s brother in the case of mobile theft. His brother runs a shop dealing in sale and purchase of mobile phones.
Aft the complaint was verified, it was found that a bribe was demanded. Accordingly, the team laid a trap and caught him accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 (first installment) through Salvi at 11.30 pm yesterday.
The accused have been booked for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is going on.
