Pune: Registered Marriages Increase Post-Corona, Over 6000 Taken Place So Far
Pune, 30th November 2022: Due to the continuous layoffs and various restrictions during the Corona period, the economic cycle was disrupted. During this time, many people lost their jobs, and businesses collapsed. As a result of this, statistics have shown that there has been an increase in registered marriages after Corona. As many as 6,000 registered marriages have taken place in Pune in the current year. The office of the Registrar of Marriages said that December is still left, and there will be a further increase in the number of registered marriages this month.
Many people tend to get married by looking at horoscopes and muhurtas. Along with that, the number of registered marriages is also increasing. The new generation goes to the marriage registration office at their convenience. Marriages registered in this office are conducted under the Special Marriage Act. There is no barrier of caste or religion. As there is no complicated process at the time of marriage, the number of registered marriages is increasing.

The bride and groom can get married in front of the authorities in the presence of three witnesses if no objection is raised within 30 days after submitting the notice and supporting documents to the Marriage Registration Officer.
