Pune Crime Branch Seizes Rs 84 Lakh Drugs In Two Raids, Arrests Four Individuals

Pune, 24th January 2025: In two operations conducted by the Crime Branch of Pune City Police Commissionerate, narcotics worth Rs 84 lakh and weighing 40 kilos were seized along with vehicles used for transportation. The seized narcotics included marijuana (ganja) and cocaine. A total of four arrests were made, with cases registered at Koregaon Park Police Station and Loni Kalbhor Police Station, although both actions were carried out by teams from the Anti-Narcotics Cell.

In the first instance, yesterday, in the Koregaon Park area, based on information received by Police Constable Sandeep Shirke, two individuals were detained on Naylor Road. They were identified as Pranav Ramnani (19, resident of Bund Garden) and Gaurav Dodeja (19, resident of Koregaon Park). The police seized 2.78 grams of cocaine and 136.64 grams of OG Kush Marijuana. Additionally, the vehicles used for transportation, a MINI Cooper and a Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, were also confiscated. A case has been registered against them at Koregaon Park Police Station under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985 (NDPS Act).

In the second incident today, while the Anti-Narcotics Cell Team Two was patrolling in the Loni Kalbhor area, Police Constable Yogesh Mandhare received information about two suspicious individuals in Lonkar Wasti. The police detained Bharat Kumar Rajpurohit (35) and Ashu Singh Doghe, both residents of Rajasthan. They seized 40 kg of marijuana worth Rs 16.67 lakh. A case was registered at Loni Kalbhor Police Station, again under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of Pune City Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioners of Police (Crime 1) Ganesh Ingale and (Crime 2) Rajendra Mulik.

The Anti-Narcotics Cell, comprising both teams led by Senior Police Inspectors Ulhas Jagtap and Sudarshan Gaikwad, included Assistant Police Inspector Aniket Pote; Police Sub-Inspectors Digambar Kokate and Anil Jadhav; and Police Constables Sandeep Shirke, Yogesh Mandhare, Yuvraj Kamble, Prashant Bomadandi, Chetan Gaikwad, Ravindra Rokade, Azad Patil, Sahil Shaikh, Dinesh Bastewad, Disha Khewalkar, Sunil Naglot, Pradeep Gade, Praveen Uttekar, Maruti Pardhi, Vishal Dalvi, Sachim Malve, Sandesh Kakade, Dattaram Jadhav, Dayanand Telange, Vinayak Salve, Yogesh Mohite, Rehana Shaikh, and Nutan Ware.
