Pune: Crime Branch Unit-2 Busts Robbers Gang, 4 Accused Arrested

Swargate, 20th June 2021: The Crime Branch unit 2 of Pune city police has busted a gang of robbers who looted passengers who walked out of state transport (ST) bus stand. Four persons have been arrested while their accomplice is on the run.

Acting on a tip-off received by policemen Mohsin Shaikh and Uttam Taru, a team led by Police Inspector Mahendra Jagtap nabbed the accused today near ST officers colony on Shankarsheth Road.

The arrested persons have been identified as Yuvraj Namdev Gaikwad (31), Prabhu Baburao Jadhav (54), both residents of Solapur, and Bajrang Balbhim Gaikwad (45), Santosh Chhotu Jadhav (37), both residents of Mundhwa. Their accomplice Balbhim Gaikwad of Solapur is on the run. Police have seized a small sword, a cutter and chilli powder from their possession. An FIR has been registered against them at Swargate Police Station. The accused are criminals on police records.

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Morale, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shrinivas Ghadge, Assistant Commissioner of Police Surendranath Deshmukh and Police Inspector Mahendra Jagtap.

The team included Assistant Police Inspector Prakash More, Vaishali Bhasale and police personnel Yashwant Ambre, Sanjay Jadhav, Aslam Pathan, Namdev Renuse, Kishore Vaggu, Mohsin Sheikh, Uttam Taru, Chandrakant Mahajan, Chetan Gore, Nikhil Jadhav, Samir Patel, Gajanan Sonune, Gopal Madane and Aruna Shinde.
