Pune, 10th July 2026: What began as a routine food delivery turned into an unforgettable moment for a Swiggy woman delivery partner in Pune when a customer rewarded her dedication with a ₹1,000 tip after seeing her complete the delivery during heavy monsoon rains while accompanied by her three-year-old daughter.

Teena Choudhary, who has been delivering orders with Swiggy for nearly a year, was carrying out her regular deliveries when the customer was moved by her determination. Despite the downpour, Teena reached the destination on time with her young daughter by her side. Impressed by her commitment, the customer handed her a ₹1,000 tip as a gesture of appreciation and encouragement.

For Teena, the unexpected reward was more than just financial support—it was recognition of the challenges she overcomes every day while balancing work and motherhood.

Teena said she was introduced to the platform by her husband, who has been working as a Swiggy delivery partner for more than five years.

“I was working elsewhere, but I had to leave my job after I became pregnant. I couldn’t continue with a regular job while taking care of my baby, so I joined Swiggy. Here, I am not answerable to anyone, and I can take my child along if I need to. I am also able to spend time with her while working,” she said.

She added that many customers who see her delivering orders with her daughter often tell her that they find her story inspiring.

Although she is among the relatively few women delivery partners in Pune, Teena says she has always felt safe and supported.

“I do not hesitate to share if I have any concerns. Until now, I have received complete support and respect from restaurant partners, the Swiggy team, as well as fellow delivery partners,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey, Teena described working as a delivery partner as a life-changing experience.

“There is hard work, but there are also rewards,” she said, recalling the customer whose unexpected act of kindness transformed an ordinary delivery into a memorable reminder that compassion can make a lasting difference.
