Pune Customs Commissionerate is celebrating ‘Swacchata Pakhwada’ as a part of observance of “Swacchata Hi Seva”

PUNE 25 oct 2018: Pune Customs Commissionerate is celebrating ‘Swacchata Pakhwada’ from 15.10.2018 to 31.10.2018 as a part of observance of “Swacchata Hi Seva” 2018 by Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs. The Pakhwada started with Swacchata “Oath” on 15.10.2018 and followed by activities like Cleaning of premises, Workshop on the Waste management to spread the message of “Swacchata Hi Seva”.

Today Pune Customs commissionerate organized “Plogging” as an outdoor activity to create awareness on Swachha Bharat. Plogging has originated in Sweden and combines jogging, squatting, lunges while picking up litter on the road. The Plogging promotes Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of

The event was Flagged off by Smt. Sungita Sharma, Chief Commissioner of Pune Zone, CGST & Customs, who herself participated enthusiastically with more than One Hundred staff.

The Plogging covered various areas including Mangaldas Police Chowki- Petrol Pump- Dhole Patil Road- Ganpati Temple Chowk- Boat club Road- Yes Bank- back, from 06:30 hrs to 08:00 AM on 25.10.2018.

Under the leadership of Shri. M.V.S. Choudary Pune Customs Commissionerate has strived to inculcate the culture of SWACHCHTA in the office and surroundings and initiated many new initiatives like Film on Swachha Bharat , Disposal of old and condemned vehicles and vessels, Digitization of Go-down, App for Airport passenger’s satisfaction survey,. This Plogging event is another initiative by Pune Customs Commissionerate under Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan.
