Pune Cyber Fraud: Two Duped of Rs 45 Lakh in Fake Stock Market Scheme

Pune, 24th March 2025: Cyber fraudsters have deceived two individuals of Rs 45 lakh by luring them with promises of high returns on stock market investments.

In the first case, a young man from Kharadi was duped of Rs 36.55 lakh. The fraudsters contacted him through his mobile number and enticed him with the prospect of lucrative stock market investments. They added him to a social media group where they provided information about various investment schemes. Trusting the scheme, the victim transferred money to the fraudsters’ accounts at different intervals. However, he did not receive the promised returns. Realizing he had been scammed, he lodged a complaint at the Kharadi Police Station. Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Chavan is investigating the matter.

Similarly, another young man fell victim to a similar fraud in Hadapsar, losing Rs 8.41 lakh. He filed a complaint at the Wanowrie Police Station, and Senior Police Inspector Satyajit Adamane is overseeing the investigation.
