Pune–Danapur Amrit Bharat Express to Be Flagged Off on June 17

Pune, 15th June 2026: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is scheduled to inaugurate the new Pune–Danapur Amrit Bharat Express on June 17, 2026, marking the introduction of another long-distance Amrit Bharat service aimed at improving rail connectivity between Maharashtra and Bihar.
According to the official, the train will operate as 11431/11432 Pune–Danapur Amrit Bharat Express.
The weekly train will depart from Pune at 3:30 pm every Saturday and reach Danapur at 1:30 am on Monday. In the return direction, it will leave Danapur at 3:30 am every Monday and arrive in Pune at 11:05 am on Tuesday.
The service will halt at Daund Chord Line, Ahilyanagar, Belapur, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Pipariya, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Cheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar and Ara en route.
The Amrit Bharat trains have been introduced as fully non-air-conditioned services with a mix of General and Sleeper Class coaches, catering primarily to passengers seeking affordable long-distance travel. The rake will consist of up to 18 LHB coaches and will be maintained at Pune.
Railway officials said the train incorporates several upgraded passenger and safety features. These include CCTV surveillance systems, emergency talk-back units, aerosol-based fire suppression systems, crashworthy coach design, sealed gangways, improved toilets, enhanced lighting, mobile charging facilities with USB Type-A and Type-C ports, ergonomic ladders and a pantry car.
The coaches feature redesigned seats and berths inspired by the Vande Bharat Sleeper design, while semi-automatic couplers have been provided to improve ride quality. The train will also be equipped with push-pull technology, with locomotives at both ends to improve operational performance.
Facilities for Divyangjan passengers have also been incorporated as part of the train’s passenger amenity features.
The regular weekly service is expected to commence following the inauguration programme on June 17.
