Pune: Dance Teacher Remanded In Police Custody Till 13th January; Accused Said To Filmed Abuse
Pune, 10th January 2025: Police investigation has revealed that a dance teacher who committed sexual abuse on minor children at a reputed school in Karve Nagar filmed the abuse. The court has remanded the teacher in police custody till 13th January for further investigation into the crime.
In this regard, two cases have been registered earlier against the dance teacher under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act. Out of these, the accused, who was in judicial custody in the first case, was taken into custody by the police and produced before the court for investigation in the second case.
At this time, Special Public Prosecutor Adv. Nitin Konghe and Investigation Officer Assistant Inspector Ranjit Mohite requested the court to give the accused police custody.
The investigation has revealed that the accused dance teacher filmed himself sexually abusing children. He had threatened to send this footage to others. Accordingly, it is necessary to investigate whether the accused has circulated this footage on social media, and whether the accused has committed any more such crimes. Along with this, his competence needs to be tested.
For this, Adv. Konghe demanded that the accused be given police custody. The court of Special Judge KD Shirbhate remanded the accused in police custody till 13th January.
