Pune: Dangerous For Couples To Hangout At Late Evening On Hills

Pune, 5th October 2022: It is seen that the couples sitting in a hill area in the city are getting threatened by goons and thieves. On the hill in the city, the young men and women spend a long time in the evening chatting and spending time together.

It is seen that they mostly sit at reserved places, away from sitting areas. Thieves take this chance to harass and threaten these couples at knifepoint. Therefore, the Forest Department and the police have appealed that one should not stay on the hill after the evening to avoid these scenarios.

A youth was threatened and stabbed at Vetal Hill on Monday (October 3) evening. The thieves then stole his money. Hence the question of staying on the hill till late evening has arisen. This incident has increased the tension between both the forest department and the police.

People Are Advised To Take Necessary Precautions:

– There are many hills in the city like Vetal Hill, Hanuman Hill, Taljai, and Mhatoba Hill. The number of people walking on it in the morning and evening is increasing. On the other hand, staying on the hill till late in the evening is a problem for criminals. Since they are getting money, they rob at knifepoint. Many such incidents have happened in the last few months.

– On the way to the temple on Taljai Hill, there are many couples on the side of the road on bikes or sitting in the shade of trees. Police patrols in this area after evening. But, in many places, the police cannot go or stay there continuously. As a result, thieves take advantage of it.

– There is a very large area on Vetal Hill. At that place, young men and women sit chatting in the bushes. There are some restrictions when sitting in city parks. Hence, couples feel safe on the hill and behave undisturbed.
