Pune, 5th October 2022: An incident of autorickshaw driver robbing a passenger going to Bangalore has taken place in the Katraj area. The rickshaw driver charged as much as Rs 3,100 for the journey of just three kilometres from Padmavati to Katraj on the Satara road.
Interestingly, this passenger did not have enough money. The accused took Rs 1,600 from the passenger and told him that he should get the remaining money from a ‘money transfer’ shop and took the money. Action is being demanded to trace this rickshaw driver.
According to Bajrang Nimbalkar, a money transfer businessman, a rickshaw stopped in front of his shop around 1 pm. Two people got out of it and came to the shop. The passenger transferred Rs one thousand five hundred to Nimbalkar’s account through Google Pay. In return, Nimbalkar gave him cash. The rickshaw driver left with this amount, but the passenger stopped at the shop.
After the rickshaw driver left, the passenger told him about the fraud. This passenger boarded a rickshaw at Padmavati. After telling the rickshaw driver that he has to go to Bengaluru, this rickshaw driver took him to Katraj Dattanagar.
At that time the rickshaw driver’s companion was also in the rickshaw. The passenger was told that the fare was Rs three thousand one hundred. After withdrawing Rs one thousand six hundred from him, the accused took him to Nimbalkar’s shop. Both of them ran away after collecting the remaining money.
