Pune: DCM Ajit Pawar Instructs Officials To Expedite Work On Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi-Maṇ Metro Line
Pune 12th August 2023 : In a significant move, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has directed to expedite the construction work of the Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi-Maṇ Metro Line along with experdiating the proposed integrated flyover at Savitribai Phule Pune University Road. Speaking at the meeting in Council Hall, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the need to accelerate the progress of the project.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawar asserted that to expedite the Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi-Maṇ Metro Line project, crucial administrative support and coordination are essential to ensure that all phases progress seamlessly. He emphasized the importance of minimizing inconveniences to citizens during the construction phase, especially concerning traffic management. Pune Municipal Corporation and the traffic police should collaborate to efficiently manage vehicular movement, he said.
The transfer of 45-meter-wide land needed for the ramp at Ganeshkhind should be completed by September 15, he added. Pawar also instructed the Pune Municipal Corporation to oversee the necessary arrangements, including barricading and traffic diversion in areas such as Aundh, Baner, Paashan, and Ganeshkhind Ramp, while ensuring citizens’ convenience.
The Deputy Chief Minister further stressed that in the interest of the project, bureaucratic hurdles should not hinder the allocation of necessary government land. He directed officials to maintain direct communication with department heads to resolve issues promptly. He also spoke to private land owners regarding specific plots required for the project, to ensure efficient land acquisition. Pawar said that the work should be done considering the next 50 years and there should be no compromise on the plan in the project.
