Pune, 28th March 2023: About 320 posts of class 1 to class 3 are to be filled by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in the second phase of recruitment. The Municipal Corporation had also started the online application process for these seats. However, as only 5,329 applications have been received so far, the municipality has extended the recruitment process. Now the candidates can fill out the applications by 15th April.
The Municipal Corporation conducted the recruitment process in July 2022 where 445 out of 448 seats were filled in it. 85,000 applications were received for these seats. After completing this process within six months, the municipality published an advertisement for 320 posts for the second phase. Out of this, around 200 posts belong to the fire brigade and the remaining posts belong to class-1 and class-2.
Response for these posts was expected from across the state. The application deadline was 28th March. However, only 5,329 applications have been received by the end of Monday, out of which about 2,300 applications have come for the fire brigade. 3,000 applications have been received for the remaining posts.
Therefore, the administration has extended the deadline for filing the applications. This recruitment drive is conducted to fill various posts such as X-ray Specialist, Deputy Director of Medical Officer, Veterinary Officer, and Senior Health Inspector.
These applications have also been affected by the strike called by the employees last week for the old pension. Many candidates applied, but they could not complete the application process as they did not get the necessary government documents and certificates.
As a result, many candidates also demanded an extension of time to submit the application form to the Municipal Corporation.
