Pune: Death Toll Increases To 4, Injured Count Reaches 22 In Bus-Truck Accident In Narhe

Narhe, 23rd April 2023: In the wee hours of the morning, a tragic accident occurred on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway near the Swami Narayan temple in Narhe, Pune. A private travel bus heading from Kolhapur to Mumbai and a truck carrying sugar collided, resulting in the deaths of four people and 22 seriously injured.

According to police, the accident happened around 2:15 am when all the passengers were asleep. The police immediately rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to nearby hospitals with the help of 108 ambulances. Two women and two men were among the deceased.

The Bharti Vidyapeeth Police, Traffic Department, and fire brigade personnel were among those who responded to the spot of the accident. Local citizens also helped with the rescue work, despite the challenge of working in the dark.

Bus truck accident

A total of 23 people were on the bus, including 21 passengers, one driver, and one cleaner. The sugar truck had three people, including two owners and a driver.

At present, 22 people are undergoing treatment at Sassoon Hospital, Chavan Hospital, Navale Hospital, and Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital.

The police have registered a case in the matter, and an investigation is underway. A panchnama of the accident has been conducted, and further details are awaited. The cause of the accident remains unclear at this time.
