Pune: ‘Deepak – a source of light’ program on May 21
Pune, 16th May 2023: Presented by Kathak exponent Sheetal Kolwalkar and ‘Kathak Naad Productions’, a program ‘Deepak – a source of light’ will be held at MES auditorium, Balshikshan, Mayur Colony in Kothrud on Sunday May 21, 2023 from 10 AM to 1 PM. The entry to the program is free on a first come first serve basis.
During the program, there will be a performance by vocalist Viraj Joshi, who is the grandson of Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and disciple of Pandit Shrinivas Joshi and belongs to the Kirana Gharana. There will also be a performance by Pakhawaj player Shubham Ugale, who is the disciple of late Pandit Govind Bhilare and Pandit Yogesh Samsi. Then, in a visual treat for the audience, there will be a Kathak performance by disciples of Sheetal Kolwalkar. There will be a special performance by vocalist Suranjan Khandalkar.
“Through the program Deepak, I want to give a platform for the young artists to showcase their talent,” Sheetal Kolwalkar said.
Pandurang Pawar (Tabla) and Apoorv Petkar (Harmonium) will accompany the artists, while the program will be compeered by noted compeer Anand Deshmukh
