Pune: Delivery Boy Arrested For Impersonating Policeman To Impress Friends
Aundh, 2nd May 2023: A man was arrested in the Aundh area of Pune for impersonating a police officer.
Yashwant Ramesh Dhuri, a 30-year-old resident of Kalewadi, was detained by a patrolling police team on the Ramnadi bridge. Police constable Shrikant Waghwale lodged a complaint at Chatushrungi police station.
Dhuri, who was wearing slippers over the police uniform, caught the attention of the police, who became suspicious of his identity. When questioned, he claimed to be posted at Aundh Police Chowky, but his responses seemed inconsistent. The police investigation revealed that Dhuri was not a policeman but worked as a delivery boy.
Dhuri admitted to wearing the police uniform to impress his friends. He has been taken into custody and is being investigated by police.
