Pune: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Warns Of Tough Decisions Due To Rising Corona Cases

Pune, February 20, 2021: Citizens should be self-disciplined to prevent the spread of corona infection. If the citizens do not follow the rules, tough decisions will have to be taken for Pune district, warned the Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. On Friday, a total of 1015 new COVID19 patients were reported in Pune district including areas under the cantonments, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporations.

Pawar was speaking at the award distribution program ‘Smart Village and RR Patil Sundar Gaon Yojana’ at Alpa Bachat Bhavan on Friday.  Zilla Parishad President Nirmala Pansare, Vice President Ranjit Shivtare, Speaker Pramod Kakade, Baburao Vaikar, Sarika Pansare, Pooja Parge, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Ayush Prasad, Additional Chief Executive Officer Bharat Shendge and other officials were present on the occasion.

Pawar said, “The number of corona patients is increasing in Pune. Everyone should be self-disciplined to prevent the spread of corona. For that, it is necessary to follow the rules. However, if the rules are not followed, tough decisions will have to be taken for the district.”

Expressing the need to spend the funds allocated for development works, he said, “The state government has allocated a large amount of funds for the development of transport, roads, drinking water and agriculture. However, that fund must be spent properly. The authorities must make efforts to develop the district from that fund. For this, the quality of development work should be good. If negligence is done in the work, the concerned officers will not be spared.”
