Pune, February 20, 2021: It has come to light that the luxury car used for the procession of notorious goon Gajanan Marne on his way to Pune after his release from Taloja Jail belonged to an NCP office bearer. Kothrud police station has seized the car.

After his release from prison, the march by Marne’s supporters has become a topic of discussion. A case has been registered against Marne and his supporters, while Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has expressed his displeasure over the Pune police, asking how the criminal’s procession was allowed.

Marne had come to Pune by car after getting out of Taloja jail. The car he was travelling in belonged to a family member of an NCP office bearer from Vadgaonsheri constituency.

According to police, Gajanan Pandharinath Marne alias Gaja Marne alias Maharaj is a notorious goon and has been charged with murder and other criminal cases. He was released from Taloja jail on Monday. Hundreds of supporters, including a convoy of vehicles, had gathered outside the jail to welcome him. From there, Marne with a convoy of about 500 vehicles had left for Pune via the Expressway.

These vehicles did not pay the toll. Firecrackers were also burst at Urse toll plaza. The procession was also shot with a drone camera. The hooliganism march went viral on social media. Police in riot gear stormed the procession and removed hundreds of protesters.

Since then many cases have been registered against Marne and his supporters.
