Pune, October, 19, 2020: Criticizing the State Government over delay in announcing the relief packages for the farmers, former chief minister and opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis said that the State should stop pointing towards the Centre for every thing.  He was talking to the media persons after visiting the rain ravaged Undewadi in Baramati.

The senior BJP leader said, “instead of waiting for the aid from the Centre, the chief minister should declare the relief package for the farmers as soon as possible. The state will surely get the aid from Centre, but till then should start releasing the funds.

When I was an acting CM for 10 days, my government completed the panchnamas within five days and sent the relief to the farmers. I do not understand why this government is waiting for the aid from the centre, when they can release fund from Chief Minister’s fund. The state government is running away from its responsibility to help the farmers.”

Pointers to Sharad Pawar

He said, “Sharad Pawar was agriculture minister. He knows how the funds are released from the Centre. First, inspection team conducts the survey, prepares the proposal and send it to the Centre. The state too has to send a proposal. Then the finance minister and agriculture minister meet to decide the package. Despite knowing this I wonder why Sharad Pawar is pointing towards Centre for releasing the funds.”

Baramati tour

Fadnavis toured the rain ravaged areas of Baramati taluka and spoke with the farmers. He said that the state instead of running away from its responsibility to give the aid to the farmers, is busy in pointing towards the centre to release the funds.

He said that the state government should conduct the  panchnamas and where it is not possible should consider the photos sent by the farmers to pay the money.
